How do you feel about squats? September 10, 2007
Posted by hardly UncategorizedSheesh, the trainer was just going after our legs today. By the end, yeah, we all felt it!
Warmup (2x through the following):
- 30 Kettlebell swings @ 20 kg
- 30 Pushups
- 30 Sit-ups
- 30 Bodyweight squats (get used to that…)
Workout:
- Deadlifts, in sequence: 10 @ 85 lbs, 10 @ 100 lbs, 8 @ 133 lbs, 6 @ 144 lbs, 15 @ 144 lbs
- 12 minutes for as many rounds as possible of:
- 21 American Swings @ 20 kg; 15 squats @ 20 kg; 200 M run (4 rounds for me, thankyou very much)
- Pushup match-off (Men v. Women): Get to 200 first! I did 100 reps of the total. Men won by a hair.
- 60 Thrusters @ 45 lbs
One of the things that’s very interesting about many of the movements that we do is that the squat form is used in many of them. For example, bodyweight squats, swings, thrusters, wall-ball, bench jumps, etc., etc all have that same mechanical movement of pushing up with your legs. It’s great that our coach mixes things up a bit, for example, 12 minutes of stuff is going to be aerobic fur sure, but still, at the end of one of these, you’re walking funny.
